When you are thinking about getting dentures, there are a few different options that you will have. The first thing that you need to think about is the exact type of dentures you want. In this blog post, we’ll go over the four different kinds of dental implants and the considerations you need to make when deciding on the right kind for you.

All-On-4 dentures are when all of the teeth are supported on four dental implants - hence the name. This is a relatively new form of dental implant, but it is certainly a very popular one even if it hasn’t been around all that long. The dental implants support full-arch fixed implant bridges, so it’s a really effective way to replace a lot of lost teeth at once. However, there are some factors that you need to consider before opting for this choice. For instance, in some patients, speech issues can occur after these type of implants are fitted. Not only that, though, but the procedure can end up very expensive.

Permanent Dentures

Some people prefer to go with permanent dentures. These are a great alternative to removable dentures that can sometimes be wobbly when worn. In order to benefit from permanent dentures, you will need to have dental implants placed in the gums. These will then secure the dentures in place permanently. The procedure for these dentures isn’t too long compared to other treatment methods. Plus, there is little maintenance and they are very robust. However, they can be prone to infection and inflammation. Some people also find that the procedure is often slightly over their budget.

Full Mouth Reconstruction

Also known as a smile makeover, full mouth reconstruction involves solving various functional and aesthetic concerns with your teeth at once. It will be a completely customized treatment that will address all of the issues that you have with your teeth. Many people find that it really boosts their confidence as they can create the smile that they have always wanted. There are some disadvantages to this treatment, though, including the fact that it can be very expensive. It can also take a long time and you may be required to see your dentist for a number of different appointments.

Implants In A Day

Many people are tempted to go for implants in a day as the procedure is quick and not too time-consuming. During the procedure, the dental implants will be placed into your gums in such a way that there will be no movement during the healing process. This method can be used to replace just the one tooth or a number of lost teeth. One of the main disadvantages of this method is that the healing process can be quite long. That’s because the implants are placed directly into the bone.

Hopefully, this blog post has given you more information regarding the different kinds of dental implants that are available. If you have any further questions then it is always worth speaking to your dentist directly.

"Dr. Amy is like the golden goddess of all things teeth. Seriously I look up at those beautiful browns and just do whatever she tells me to. No, in all seriousness, you could not be in better hands both in skill and bedside manner. After you catch your breath, take a minute to listen to her professional advice. She's helped me a lot and I feel great about my smile."
